The replacement of diesel with natural gas has three potential benefits. The use of a local resource like natural gas to replace imported liquid fuels can substantially improve the balance of payments for some countries. When this is combined with lower exhaust emissions, dual fuel engines for commercial vehicles are very attractive. Fuel pricing is the issue that makes or breaks alternative fuels programmes and liquid and gaseous fuels pricing is always a matter of government policy.
Economics
As the pricing of liquid and gaseous fuels in every country is a political decision it is important to quantify the benefits of the fuel pricing in your country before embarking on an alternative fuels programme. Incentives for vehicle conversion and compressor stations is a secondary factor.

Emissions
Natural gas has the lowest greenhouse emissions of all economically available fuels. The extent of the exhaust emission reduction with the use of natural gas will depend on the engine type and the technology used. DieselGas has developed Euro II dual fuel engines with mechanical diesel injection systems and diesel engines with electronic diesel injection systems have the possibility of meeting Euro III and Euro IV with exhaust after treatment. diesel substitution
Dual fuel engines use diesel for pilot ignition with
most of the power coming from burning gas. The gas percentage
varies from 0% at idle to 90% at full load. Driving
cycles therefore effect the total substitution of dual
fuel vehicles. [more]
joint venture development
DieselGas has worked co-operatively
with many clients around the world. Joint development
programmes have the benefit of bringing engine manufacturers,
end users and developers together and this ensures a
positive project outcome. DieselGas is always open to
consider joint venture proposals.

leading edge technology
DieselGas have developed dual fuel system designs including the mechanical hardware, electronic ECU hardware and software. The DieselGas system is recognised by leading engine manufacturers as having a unique ability to meet the most stringent engine performance requirements in this demanding field. The DGTech technician interface programmes ability to assist technicians to implement and service the product is second to none.
Product licensing
DieselGas have licensed their technology to Caterpillar Inc USA and Robert Bosch Brazil and can have local manufacturing arrangements with other engine manufacturers.
